Greatly improved service frequency began August 25, 2008 on the MTD’s 5/50 Green Route. It is easier and more convenient for your customers and employees to access your organization. Will you help spread the word about one of the most exciting upgrades to transit service in our community’s history?

This is a big deal.

For the first time, a community bus line runs every 15 minutes, all day and all night every weekday and Saturday night during University of Illinois Fall and Spring semesters. That means anyone along the line can simply catch a bus without having to think about a schedule. With 15-minute frequency, the average wait time will be only 7 minutes.

Think about what that means. No need for a car! No need for as much parking! The freedom to avoid traffic and high gas prices without sacrificing the flexibility of managing your own schedule.

The 5/50 Green Route is one of our core routes serving Champaign and Urbana, and the University. Important destinations along the route can play a great role in letting your customers, visitors and employees know about this fantastic service.

We hope to eventually make major expansions of other routes. The entire community benefits from more riders Ð less traffic on the road, fewer parking lots needed, better mobility options.

Partners agree to spread the word about the new 15-minute service on the Green Line. We believe the single biggest reason why people don't ride the bus is because they don't know where it goes and how often it runs. If people know the route map and know they can just show up and about 7 minutes later a Green Line bus will arrive to pick them up, we think lots more residents and students will ride and have easier access to your business.

You can link to this website, green15.org, and can send an email to all your employees or customers linking to the website.

Special route maps have been produced and can be downloaded from this site to include in your newsletter or mailings to your employees or customers.
